Why This Blog?

Our nation was founded primarily by men who were disciples of Christ. Those few who were not His disciples still believed that His principles were effective to govern mankind. In the 230 plus years since our founding as a nation, we have prospered as a nation when we have held to principles of Scripture and the Constitution. During the course of my lifetime, we as a nation have increasingly abandoned our founding principles and have walked away from being disciples of Christ.

In 1961 at his Presidential inauguration, John F. Kennedy memorably said, "
And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." Following the last election we saw the memorable video of the young woman saying that the new President-elect was going to pay her mortgage and her gas bill for her. Barack Obama never promised that, but today too many people expect everything to be done for them by their government. Our government is bailing out profligate bank CEOs, so why shouldn't the people expect the same?

Our nation faces decadence from within and destruction from without. We as a people have grown soft, selfish, and immoral. We no longer follow Christ nor honor His principles. Our nation will fall unless we return to Him. This blog will discuss a variety of issues from this perspective. May our Lord and Savior be honored and glorified in the United States of America.
